The beginnings...
The Draft Horse Inn was founded in 1996 by Ronnie and Connie Soppa, lifelong horse enthusiasts with a special love for draft horses. Ronnie wasn’t just a fan, he was a multi-time champion horse puller, earning countless trophies and accolades over the years. Many of those awards, along with items from their personal collection, now decorate the inn, giving it a unique charm and a sense of living history.
Today, the hotel is proudly carried on by their grandson, Ben, and his wife, Sue. Together, they continue Ronnie and Connie’s vision: a cozy, welcoming place where travelers feel right at home while also getting a taste of the family’s heritage.
